International Inspiration

International Inspiration (II) was established in response to the London 2012 bid team’s promise to reach young people all around the world through sport and connect them to the inspirational power of the Games.

The organisation aims to enrich the lives of 12 million children of all abilities in 20 countries through the power of high quality and inclusive physical education, sport and play. By the end of 2010, II was active in 15 countries, as well as the UK, and had already reached six million children.

The Sir John Beckwith Charitable Trust has committed funds towards the establishment of the II programme in Tanzania and Ghana, building on the success of the Beckwith International Leadership Development programme (BILD) which is already in place there.
