Youth Sport Trust

The Youth Sport Trust (YST) is a registered charity, which was established by Sir John Beckwith in 1994 to build a brighter future for young people by enhancing the quality of physical education and sporting opportunities.

YST’s objectives are achieved through the educational sporting programmes that it produces which are delivered through schools and are supported by a range of corporate partners, trusts and foundations and government departments. YST supports 501 Sports Colleges and Academies that exist across all parts of England. Many of these also act as hub sites for a network of 450 School Sport Partnerships.

There is a growing belief that PE and school sport can make a major contribution to many agendas – educational achievement, public health, community cohesion and, of course, sporting performance at the highest level.
