Pacific Investments is a multi-asset fund management group encompassing real estate, traditional and absolute return strategies to offer investors access to a fully diversified range of investment products.

Established in 1993 by Sir John Beckwith and Mark Johnson, businesses founded by Pacific have gone on to manage over US$80 billion on behalf of institutions, wealth managers, family offices and individuals.

Sir John Beckwith CBE

CHAIRMAN

Sir John Beckwith is the Founder and Chairman of Pacific. Sir John’s track record in real estate and asset management spans over 40 years. Since 1971, Sir John has established many successful businesses investing in global real estate markets which have delivered attractive returns to their partners and investors. Real estate businesses founded by Sir John have developed more than 65 million ft² of property.

Through Pacific, Sir John has founded a number of fund management businesses which currently have assets under management in excess of US$50billion across a wide range of asset classes. These businesses include Liontrust Asset Management PLC, Thames River Capital, Nevsky Fund, River and Mercantile Asset Management and Pacific Asset Management. Sir John qualified as a Chartered Accountant and ATII with Arthur Andersen.

Mark Johnson

CEO

Mark Johnson co–founded Pacific Investments with Sir John Beckwith. Mark qualified as a lawyer before working in corporate finance at Barclays Merchant Bank and Barclays de Zoete Wedd. He was CEO of the Riverside Group, one of the UK’s leading leisure companies, under the chairmanship of Sir John, and oversaw its successful sale.

Mark is (and has been) a founding partner and shareholder/director of Pacific’s investment portfolio and private equity companies, including Liontrust Asset Management, Thames River Capital, Nevsky Capital, River & Mercantile Asset Management, Argentex, Barbican Healthcare, Sports and Outdoor Media, Pacific Asset Management, Urban Logistics REIT PLC and European Logistics Real Estate Partners.

Mark has worked with Sir John for over 25 years.

Henry Beckwith

DIRECTOR: FINANCIAL SERVICES AND ASSET MANAGEMENT

Henry is responsible for the Asset Management & Financial Services division and takes an active role in deal origination and the management of the portfolio of companies. He has spent his whole career in asset management with a particular emphasis on the application of chaos theory to the derivatives and currency markets. In 2011 he became a founding shareholder of Zorin, a leading provider of alternative finance for the UK property market.

In 2012 he co-founded Argentex, Pacific’s foreign exchange specialist which now has annual turnover in excess of £10bn. In 2016 he became a founding partner of Pacific Asset Management, the core asset management business of the group. Henry is a graduate of Newcastle University and a member of both the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and the Society of Technical Analysis.

Stuart Roberts

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Stuart Roberts is the Group Finance Director of Pacific, overseeing multi–jurisdictional reporting and tax compliance across all group companies and partnerships. In addition, he is responsible for corporate structuring and tax planning for all group transactions to ensure that returns are maximised to Pacific and management teams.

Stuart joined Pacific in 2003, prior to which he worked at Zurich Financial Services in their London insurance office reporting to the US and Switzerland. Stuart qualified as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte & Touche where he worked in their Financial Institutions and Corporate Recovery departments. Before training as a Chartered Accountant, Stuart taught economics and politics at Merchant Taylors School, Northwood.

Doug Rogers

DIRECTOR: FAMILY OFFICE, REAL ESTATE AND LEISURE

Doug joined Pacific in 2000 and heads the Beckwith Family Office. Doug continues to co-manage Pacific’s private equity division, which focuses on the real estate and leisure sectors. He has been responsible all aspects of the portfolio, including investment structuring, management incentive schemes, acquisitions, disposals and fundraising.

Since joining Pacific, Doug has worked on numerous transactions including negotiating the disposal of a leading sports marketing business in the UK and India, the establishment of a number of asset backed leisure businesses in Europe and the acquisition and disposal of development land in Ireland. Prior to joining Pacific, Doug worked at Price Waterhouse where he became a Chartered Accountant specialising in corporate tax structuring.

Tim Eyles

Non-Executive Director

Tim joined the board of Pacific Investments as a non-executive director in 2020. He is also Chair of Pacific Asset Management.  Tim has a portfolio of Chair roles across a range of sectors including financial services, business services, healthcare, technology and the arts. Apart from Pacific, these include being Chair of Centralis Group (the market-leading international provider of corporate services to some of the world’s leading corporations & financial institutions), Chair of Celsus (the UK’s leading supplier of clinical workforce solutions to the NHS), and Chair of the RSA (Royal Society of Arts).

Tim is former International Board Chair & Managing Partner at global professional services firm Taylor Wessing which he led through a period of transformational growth from 2009 to 2018.

Senior Management & Finance

Alasdair Abram

‍ASSISTANT DIRECTOR - CORPORATE FINANCE

Alasdair joined Pacific in 2021 and is responsible for deal origination, investment appraisal and the ongoing investment management across the Group’s portfolio companies. Prior to joining Pacific, Alasdair worked at Numis Securities where he spent over 5 years in the Investment Banking team advising clients in the Real Estate and Consumer sectors on M&A, capital raising and IPOs. Prior to this Alasdair worked in Management Consulting for two years. Alasdair holds a MSc in Management and Finance from University College London and a BA in History from Newcastle University.

Chris Munro

L&C Partners LLP Director

Chris has worked in the financial services industry for many years : first in securities and then in asset management. He has chaired a FTSE 250 company and has worked and co invested with the Pacific Group since 1986.

Emily Matthews

Financial Controller

Emily joined Pacific in January 2022, working as part of the Urban Logistics team. Before this she worked at Shipleys LLP where she qualified as a chartered accountant.

Felix Bull

FINANCE CONTROLLER

Felix joined Pacific in 2019 and is a Financial Controller in the Group finance team, responsible for Group reporting and monitoring. While at Pacific, Felix has also worked on numerous transactions, including modelling Real Estate Investment funds, investment structuring, and corporate disposals. Prior to joining Pacific, Felix qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Deloitte, specialising in Investment Management and Private Equity audits.

Jamie Waldegrave

COO URBAN LOGISTICS PLC

Jamie joined Pacific in 2020. Prior to this he was the CFO of Coniq, a VC backed proptech company which raised £12m of equity, operated in 14 countries and had 100 staff. Coniq produced and sold a SaaS platform into the retail property sector, working closely with major property owners including Unibail Rodamco Westfield, Land Securities, Value Retail and Via Outlets. Jamie qualified as a chartered accountant at PwC in 2010.

Kalpana Jani

Accounts Payable

Kalpana joined Pacific in 2007 and is responsible for corporate side of the business, as a senior accounts payable,  bookkeeper, and cash management across multiple companies within the Pacific Group.

Prior to joining Pacific, Kalpana gained a wealth of experience within the accounting field, working for companies such as Aberdeen Steak Houses, WH Smith and Corporate AV. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Economics and Accounting from the University of Mumbai.

Louisa Robbins

FINANCE CONTROLLER

Louisa joined Pacific in May 2020, before that she worked at BDO where she qualified as a chartered accountant.

Michael Perkins

Accountant

Michael joined Pacific as a financial controller in 2014 where he was primarily responsible for financial reporting across all group companies and partnerships. Since 2019, Michael has been responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of Urban Logistics REIT plc, a company managed by Pacific. Prior to joining Pacific, Michael worked at Gerald Edelman where he qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant.

Natalie Martin

FINANCE CONTROLLER

Natalie joined Pacific in 2021 as a financial controller. Prior to joining Pacific, Natalie worked at EY, training as a Chartered Accountant. She worked in the financial services sector, specifically focusing on credit risk within Investment Banks and looking at the Bank’s 3 year strategic plans.

Sebastian Steane

DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Sebastian joined Pacific in 2018 and is responsible for the Development Management activities across Pacific’s real estate development platforms. The portfolio of developments is both pan-European and multi-sector, focussing on value add Real Estate development opportunities for Pacific and its Investors. Sebastian previously ran the development consultancy team at Arcadis, and qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 2017.

Tanya Williams

Accounts Payable

Tanya joined Pacific in 2019 and is responsible for both Sales and Purchase Ledger. Prior to joining Pacific, Tanya worked at Turnbull and Asser for 17 years as an Assistant Accountant.

Veronique Couvelard

Family Office Accountant

Veronique joined Pacific in 2009 as the accountant for the Family Office and takes responsibility for the financial reporting on various private investments across the UK, Europe and Asia. Prior to joining Pacific, Veronique worked at the Institute of Independent Business, a not for profit company.
